At standard atmospheric strain, oxygen transportation is proscribed via the oxygen binding capacity of hemoglobin in red blood cells and little or no oxygen is transported by blood plasma. Since the hemoglobin on the crimson blood cells is nearly saturated with oxygen at atmospheric strain, this route of transport can't be exploited any even more.
